What is the female condom?
The female condom is a polyurethane sheath (a type of thin and very flexible plastic), which has of them flexible rings. Women usually wear it during vaginal sex, but it can also be used during anal sex. The female condom protects against the vast majority of sexually transmitted infections as well as HIV, and it prevents unplanned pregnancies. Like the male condom, this method of contraception is a so-called fence. This means that it blocks the entry of semen into the vagina, while preventing the exchange of body fluids between the two partners.
What are the advantages of the female condom?
-As it is the woman who masters the use of this condom, it becomes an interesting option for men who would be more reluctant to use the male condom.
-The female condom helps protect the vulva against certain transmissible infections
-The fact that the condom is ample can improve the sensations for the man
-It is made of polyurethane: a more resistant material (40% higher anyway!) Than latex and becomes an alternative for people who are allergic to it.
-It can be put on anytime before intercourse, while for the male condom, it is absolutely necessary to wait until the penis is erect. In short, thus, we cut less the magic of the moment!
What are the disadvantages of the female condom?
-The female condom is more expensive than the male condom.
-As it is made of plastic, moving back and forth may cause an unpleasant noise. You can, however, try to vary the positions to prevent this from happening.
-Sperm may leak from the condom if it is not removed the right way.
-You cannot use it with a dildo or a vibrator like you might do with a male condom.
How should the female condom be used?
After carefully opening the packaging, (without teeth, scissors and we also pay attention to nails and rings!), pinch the inner ring (the one at the closed end of the condom). Slide it as far as possible into the vagina without letting go. Insert a finger into the condom to adjust it properly, making sure that the outer part is clearly visible outside the vagina and that it partially covers the labia minora and labia majora. It is important to secure the outer ring at the time of penetration by guiding the penis inside it. To remove the female condom, pinch the outer ring while turning it. It can only be useda times and when it is done, it is in the trash that it goes and not in the toilet!
