AquaGlide anal lubricant test, intimate anal gel

Aquaglide anal lubricant, intimate gel

As I told you, I am currently preparing a series of tests on the different lubricants that I use to carry out my sex toy tests or simply during my cuddles with my partner.

Today I’m talking about a water-based lubricant that seems very interesting to me, the AquaGlide Anal intimate lubricant.

To know if a product is effective, you must first use it several times before drawing any conclusions. This is what I did with the AquaGlide anal lubricant from Joy Division. This water-based lubricant is reserved for anal penetration.

Packaging of AquaGlide anal lubricant

the intimate water-based gel is simply packaged in a clear plastic tube without any packaging on the outside. A sticker is placed on it attesting to the good dermatological quality of the lubricant, including a pH adapted to the skin. The components of the product are also listed on the tube itself.

Here nothing particular to report we are in basic packaging, nothing to do with Pjur lubricants whose design is much more elaborate.

AquaGlide anal lubricant design

Like the packaging, there is nothing special to say. Aquaglide anal lubricant is translucent just like the tube. This allows you to see the amount of lubricant remaining after and before use.

AquaGlide anal lubricant material

Aquaglide anal lubricant has a thick texture without being odorous. It is composed of water, glycerin, hydroxyethylcellulose and sodium methyl paraben. As with all my lubricant tests, I will give you some information on these different components.

In reality, these are lubricants that are regularly found in lubricants. I have also provided information on these several times.

Glycerin: this is a moisturizer that helps maintain the water content of the skin. It also helps maintain the water content of the lubricant when it is in its tube.

Hydroxyethylcellulose: it allows a light protective film to be deposited on the skin. It is also used as a stabilizer.

Methylparaben sodium: this is a preservative that helps prevent the proliferation of bacteria in AquaGlide anal lubricant.

Regarding this paraben, I have had questions from readers on several occasions. First of all it is important to know that this compound is naturally present in blueberries. Then, according to scientists, there is no estrogenic activity in vivo for methyl paraben, this proves that it is neither harmful nor toxic to health (source: SCCP « Committee of scientific advisers of the European Commission »). Finally, it would take a very high concentration of methylparaben to cause a health risk (note that the legislation limits the methylparaben content between 0.4% and 0.8%).

However, if you are looking for an anal lubricant that does not contain any potentially harmful compounds, I recommend that you choose an organic lubricant. You can also read my American bioglide organic lubricant test.

To use it, simply lift the cap and coat the part to be lubricated with the necessary quantity.

As it is a water-based intimate gel, it also works well during vaginal penetrations or during the use of silicone sex toys that do not tolerate other types of lubricant. However, given the thickness of its texture, it is expressly dedicated to anal use.

Either way, Aquaglide anal lubricant holds on well and does not flow. Its consistency provides good lubrication of the private parts and gently facilitates penetration. It therefore provides optimal comfort of use and does not risk « staining ». Thus, it fits well on dildos or plugs and does not risk leaking.

I tested it with my partner and with a classic anal plug. The lubrication is good and we didn’t need to add more. I clarify this last point because in general with water-based lubricants it is often necessary to add more.

Note that as the product tends to stick, if used for a long time, the sex toys should be washed well after use.

Conclusion on AquaGlide anal lubricant

Apart from the composition which may disturb the most careful, the AquaGlide anal lubricant from Joy Division remains quite interesting. It facilitates the practice of sodomy by softening anal penetration or the insertion of sex toys. In addition, its price is relatively affordable, therefore accessible to all budgets.
